What to Expect on This 7-Night Turkish Riviera Cruise
Day 1: Olympos to Gokkaya Bay
The journey begins with a pickup from Olympos at 10:30 am, followed by a scenic transfer to Demre Cayagzi Harbour, a key starting point for Blue Cruises. After a welcome briefing, we set sail aboard a traditional Turkish gulet, heading towards the Sunken City of Kekova, an ancient Lycian settlement submerged over 2000 years ago. Swimming is not allowed here, but you can admire the ruins from the deck as we slowly cruise over the site. Next, we anchor near Simena Castle, where you can hike up for a panoramic view of the turquoise coastline. As evening falls, we settle in Gokkaya Bay, a serene anchorage perfect for swimming and stargazing.
Day 2: Kas and Aquarium Bay
After a delicious breakfast onboard, we sail to the vibrant seaside town of Kas, known for its bohemian atmosphere, boutique shops, and lively cafes. You’ll have free time to explore the narrow cobbled streets, browse handcrafted jewelry, or relax with a cup of Turkish coffee at a waterfront cafe. After enjoying Kas’s picturesque charm, we continue cruising along the coastline, making our way to Aquarium Bay, famous for its crystal-clear waters ideal for snorkeling. The night is spent anchored in this tranquil bay, where you can relax under the Mediterranean stars.
Day 3: Butterfly Valley and St. Nicholas Island
The day starts at Butterfly Valley, one of Turkey’s most famous hidden gems, where you can swim in turquoise waters, explore the canyon, or take an optional hike to the hidden waterfall. We then sail to Oludeniz, home to the world-famous Blue Lagoon, a protected national park with stunning shades of blue and green. Here, you can either relax on the sandy shores or experience paragliding from Babadag Mountain, one of the best paragliding spots in the world. As the sun sets, we arrive at St. Nicholas Island, an ancient Byzantine settlement where you can explore historical ruins and watch the sky turn golden.
Day 4: Arrival in Fethiye
Start your morning with a refreshing swim in the Mediterranean before we sail towards Fethiye, a bustling harbor town surrounded by stunning cliffs and lush pine forests. We arrive at the harbor between 12:30 – 1:30 pm, where those ending their trip disembark and explore Fethiye’s charming Old Town, vibrant bazaar, or famous rock tombs. The rest of the day is free for you to visit Fethiye’s hidden beaches, try authentic Turkish cuisine, or simply enjoy the town’s lively atmosphere before spending the night onboard.
Day 5: New Start and St. Nicholas Island
After breakfast, we welcome new passengers and set sail again. We revisit Butterfly Valley and Oludeniz, giving you another chance to swim, hike, or paraglide. If you missed the chance before, this is your opportunity to soar over the Blue Lagoon with breathtaking aerial views. As the evening approaches, we return to St. Nicholas Island, where you can relax on deck, sip a sunset drink, and take in the spectacular coastal views.
Day 6: Free Time in Kas
Sailing back towards Kas, one of the best diving spots in Turkey, we stop at secluded bays along the Lycian coastline for swimming, sunbathing, and snorkeling. Upon arrival, you’ll have free time to explore Kas’s local markets, charming cafes, and scenic waterfront. If you’re feeling adventurous, Kas is also a great place for scuba diving, with vibrant marine life and sunken wrecks to explore. We anchor overnight in a quiet bay near Kas, surrounded by the peaceful sounds of nature.
Day 7: Kekova and Simena Castle
The day begins with another visit to the Sunken City of Kekova, where you can once again admire the ancient ruins beneath the waves. Later, we stop near Simena Castle, a charming hilltop fortress with spectacular views of the Lycian coastline. Here, you can hike up to the ruins, take breathtaking photos, or simply relax at a seaside cafe, enjoying homemade Turkish ice cream. As the trip nears its end, we return to Gokkaya Bay, one of the most serene anchorages on the route, for our final night onboard.
Day 8: Return Journey
Start the final morning with a relaxing swim in the warm Mediterranean waters before sailing back to Demre Cayagzi Harbour, arriving between 10:30 – 11:00 am. Couples are assigned their own private cabins. For solo travelers, cabin arrangements may vary, and you could be placed in a twin, double, triple, or quad cabin, depending on the group composition.
If you’re booking as a couple, please make sure to mention this in the notes section during your reservation.
Can I upgrade to a better cabin?
This trip includes accommodation in shared cabins. If available, you can upgrade to a private twin, double, or triple cabin with an ensuite bathroom.
Is it possible to change my departure date?
Yes, it is possible to change your departure date based on availability. A minor fee will be charged, and if the new date has a higher cost, you’ll need to cover the difference. Alternatively, you can transfer the amount you’ve already paid to another trip of equal or greater value, as long as it’s outside the notification period.
What type of boats are used for the sailing trips?
All of our boats are traditional gulet yachts, handcrafted in Southern Turkey. These two or three-masted sailing yachts are fully equipped with ensuite cabins, a professional kitchen, dining spaces, and deck mattresses for those who wish to sleep under the stars.
Will there be enough space for my luggage?
For your comfort and ease of movement inside the cabin, we suggest bringing a small or medium-sized suitcase or backpack.
Am I allowed to bring my own alcohol on board?
Boat licensing regulations prohibit bringing your own alcohol on board. However, reasonably priced drinks can be purchased on the boat using a tab system, which must be settled on the day of check-out.
What meals are included during the trip?
All of our gulet cruises include a traditional Turkish breakfast, a vegetarian lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner as part of the package.
Upon request, we can accommodate Jain, Vegetarian, Vegan, Halal, and Kosher dietary preferences.
You’re welcome to bring additional snacks for the trip. Drinks are available for purchase on board using a tab system, which is payable on the day of disembarkation.
Can I bring my own snacks and beverages on the boat?
Unfortunately, bringing your own drinks (including water) on board is not permitted. However, you’re welcome to bring snacks like peanuts, chips, cookies, and similar items.
Can I settle my bar bill using a credit card?
Bar Payments:
Please note that bar expenses must be paid in cash on the last day of the trip. Since ATMs may not be available at all ports, it’s a good idea to plan ahead. However, there’s no need to worry about withdrawing cash before the trip, as ATMs will be accessible in Kas Port town on the second day of the journey.
Are there power sockets available on the boat?
Some boats are equipped with power sockets in the cabins, while others have them only in the common salon area. These sockets are functional when the engine or generator is running.
Will towels be provided on board?
Beach Towels Not Provided:
Beach towels are not supplied on board, so we kindly ask guests to bring their own for beach use. Bath towels are available but are not intended for use at the beach. If needed, towels can be easily purchased from shops in towns across Turkey.
Are there any limits on air conditioning use?
Air Conditioning Usage:
Gulet boats have limited energy capacity, so air conditioning is typically used for 4-6 hours daily to conserve fuel and maintain efficiency. This also helps protect the generator and supports eco-friendly practices by encouraging natural ventilation. Running the generator overnight can be noisy and may disturb other guests, so finding a balance between comfort and sustainability is essential.
